The Georgia River Network now seeks adventurers to participate in Paddle Georgia 2026. Participants will journey in their kayaks and canoes along the Coosawattee and Oostanaula Rivers from June 14-20.
The voyage will begin in Ellijay and end in Rome. Joe Cook, Paddle Georgia Coordinator, enthuses that this is the largest week-long canoe-kayak-camping adventure in the country.
Registration and more information are available at www.garivers.org. The cost is $460 for the full seven-day trip. Two-,three-, and four-day options are also available.
Cook describes Paddle Georgia as an ‘epic adventure’ that offers opportunities to meet new people and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Participants will enjoy catered meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, on-the-river activities, educational programs, nightly entertainment, and more.
One of the goals of Paddle Georgia, according to Cook, is to turn river users into river advocates.
Registration for this year’s environmental education adventure will officially close on May 31st at 11:59 pm.
