Media release from Berry College:
The Berry College Theatre Company presents “Songs for a New World” at Sisters Theatre April 8 – 12.
Jason Robert Brown’s “Songs for a New World” is a favorite among musical theatre practitioners. This production guides the audience through a series of significant moments during the four characters’ lives. Their choices around life, love and inevitable change move this abstract musical forward, prompting the audience to wonder how these characters will conquer life’s challenges.
“’Songs for a New World’ is about a new life for all of us,” Director David Nisbet said. “The decisions we make, however small they may appear, can change our lives for the better or worse. Many decisions are tipping points. Some are joyous, some are a bit more melancholy, but we all have made these decisions, and it’s hard to go back. All that being said, Songs for a New World is a delicious exploration of those pivotal moments in all our lives.”
This event is open to the public and tickets are $10. Performances will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. This production contains mature themes and may not be suitable for children under five; viewer discretion is advised.
