Voters across Northwest Georgia cast their ballots on Tuesday in the special election runoff for U.S. House of Representatives, District 14. Clay Fuller, a Republican, won the runoff with 55.9% of votes the across the district, while Shawn Harris, a Democrat, received 44.1% of the votes. Fuller will complete the unexpired term of Marjorie Taylor Greene, who resigned from Congress earlier this year.
In other races of local interest on Tuesday – Lanny Thomas was elected to State Senate District 53. The Republican netted 68.67% of the votes, while Jack Zibluk, a Democrat, received 31.33%
Results by county in Tuesday’s special election runoff may be viewed on the Georgia Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ga.gov.
A total of 17,345 ballots were cast by Floyd County voters in this election, according to the Floyd County Elections Office. That total includes election day, advance, and absentee voting. It reflects a 27.5% turnout of the county’s registered voters.
