Media release from AdventHealth Redmond:
Community members needing heart care will benefit from the new AdventHealth Redmond Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute. AdventHealth Redmond team members, community leaders, and patients celebrated together with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, April 16. The facility opens for patients on Monday, April 20.
The AdventHealth Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute was designed with patients in mind, and now provides comprehensive, coordinated heart care all under one roof.
“Residents of northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama have trusted AdventHealth Redmond with their heart care for more than 50 years,” said Isaac Sendros, president and CEO of AdventHealth Redmond. “We’re now able to provide patients with streamlined world-class care in a location and environment that is designed exclusively for them.”
Mike Thompson, president and CEO of AdventHealth’s Southeast Region emphasized AdventHealth’s mission as the driving factor. “It’s not about the building, it’s about the people inside the building—our heart care team and our patients,” Thompson said. “It’s about our mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ.”
Speaking on behalf of the cardiology team, Michael Ware, MD, cardiologist at AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology at Rome attributed the longevity and success of the cardiology program to their culture and partnership with AdventHealth. He specifically mentioned three principles: the idea that no human being is more or less important than any other, the significance of The Golden Rule, and the team’s commitment to working hard for their patients. “Our team doesn’t just take great care of our patients, we care FOR our patients,” Ware said. “And that’s what makes us different.”
Last year, AdventHealth Redmond celebrated 50 years of providing heart care for northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama. What began in 1975 with the region’s first cardiac catheterization lab has developed into five decades of compassionate, advanced heart care with a dedicated team of leaders committed to providing world class care to their neighbors and community.
The 40,000 square-foot facility brings diagnostic testing, cardiac rehab, cardiothoracic surgery, and heart failure care together to create a seamless journey for patients and provides them with comprehensive, coordinated heart care.
“As we look toward the future we acknowledge there’s a lot of work still to do,” said Sendros. “This building is an exciting step toward tangibly addressing heart health challenges across northwest Georgia and making a meaningful and measurable impact in the lives of our community, our neighbors, and our families.”
