The Atlanta Braves picked up a 5-2 victory in the opener of a three-game set versus the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night at Truist Park.
The Braves scored two runs during the bottom of the third inning on an RBI double by Ronald Acuna Jr. and a sac fly by Matt Olson. Mike Yastrzemski had an RBI single in the seventh. Ozzie Albies contributed a two-run homer during the bottom of the eighth to account for the 599th and 600th RBIs of his career.
The Tigers got on the board with a two-run homer from Wenceel Perez in the top of the ninth.
Martin Perez was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He gave up just two hits, walked four, and struck out six over five scoreless innings. Casey Mize took the loss for Detroit.
The National League East-leading Braves improved to 21-9 on the ’26 regular season, and the American League Central-leading Tigers are now 15-15.
