The Atlanta Braves fell to the Chicago Cubs by 2-0 on Thursday night in the last outing of a three-game National League set at Truist Park. It brought the Braves’ latest winning streak to an end at four straight and allowed the Cubs to snap a four-game losing skid.
Chris Sale was charged with the loss for Atlanta after surrendering just one unearned run and five hits, walking two, and striking out eight in six innings of work. Hoby Milner was credited with the win and Daniel Palencia got the save for Chicago.
The Cubs were lifted to victory in part by a solo home run from Ian Happ in the top of the eighth inning.
The NL East-leading Braves still have the best record in MLB at 30-14 on the 2026 regular season. They will welcome the Boston Red Sox to Atlanta for a three-game interleague series over the weekend. First pitch of tonight’s series opener is slated for 7:15 pm. Fans may listen to play-by-play coverage from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network locally on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM; airtime is 6 pm.
