Media release from Shorter University:
Shorter University has announced an exciting new partnership with Kennesaw State University (KSU) that gives students the opportunity to earn two bachelor’s degrees at the same time. Through this program, students can graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Shorter University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from KSU’s Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, the second largest engineering college in Georgia.
The partnership is part of KSU’s LINK program, which creates collaborative academic pathways between institutions to help students access more degree opportunities through coordinated coursework.
“This partnership is a tremendous opportunity for our students,” said Dr. John Reams, Provost of Shorter University. “We are proud to work alongside Kennesaw State to give our students a pathway that sets them up for outstanding careers in engineering and mathematics. This is exactly the kind of innovative, student-centered thinking that makes Shorter University a great place to learn and grow.”
Students in the program will complete 45 credit hours at Shorter before transferring to Kennesaw State. The curriculum is carefully aligned between both institutions so that credits transfer seamlessly and students stay on track to graduate. After completing all requirements for their Shorter mathematics degree, students will be awarded their Bachelor of Science in Mathematics through reverse transfer while finishing their engineering degree at KSU.
