The Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins by 9-1 on Wednesday evening in the third outing of a four-game National League East set in Miami, FL. That allowed Atlanta to take a 2-1 lead in the series.
Austin Riley got the visiting team on the board with a three-run homer in the top of the second inning. Dominic Smith had a three-run shot in the Braves’ five-run sixth.
Chris Sale was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He gave up just one run and four hits, walked none, and struck out eight over seven innings. Janson Junk took the loss for Miami.
