The Atlanta Braves opened a six-game road trip on Tuesday night with a loss to the Chicago White Sox by a final score of 6-5 in 10 innings in game one of a three-game interleague set at Chicago, IL.
The Braves took an early lead with a two-run homer by Matt Olson in the top of the first inning. He added a solo shot in the third.
Braden Montgomery hit a walk-off, two-run homer in his major league debut to lift the White Sox to victory in the 10th.
Raisel Iglesias was charged with the loss for Atlanta after surrendering that home run, while Grant Taylor got the win for Chicago.
Miguel Vargas also had a two-run homer for the White Sox during the third inning.
The National League East-leading Braves’ MLB-best record is now 45-22 on the 2026 regular season. The White Sox are in second place of the American League Central at 35-31. Those teams will meet again tonight up in Chicago. First pitch is set for 7:40 pm Eastern.
