Floyd County Sheriff Dave Roberson hopes that locals will put safety first during the Summer of 2026.
Kids who stay at home while their parents work over the Summer are advised by Sheriff Roberson to be cautious. He says that parents need to make sure in advance that these kids have the emergency contact information for family, neighbors, and 911.
Motorists are urged by Sheriff Roberson to be aware of their surroundings, as kids fill local parks, streets, and neighborhoods.
Now is a time of year when people love to jump in a pool, the lake, or other body of water to beat the heat. Parents are exhorted by Sheriff Roberson to keep a keen eye on their water babies, as it does not take long for a tragedy to occur.
Sheriff Roberson also beseeches boaters to wear life preservers, don’t speed, and refrain from consuming alcohol.
See something questionable over the Summer? Say something! Roberson urges those in need to reach out to local law enforcement, as officers are here to help.
