The Atlanta Braves began the month of July with a 5-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night in the second meeting of a three-game set at Truist Park. It evened the series at a game each.
Highlights included a solo home run from Ozzie Albies during the bottom of the third inning; it was his second RBI of the night. The Braves also scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Reynaldo Lopez was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He gave up just one run and two hits, walked one, and struck out six over five innings of work. Michael McGreevy took the loss for St. Louis.
The National League East-leading Braves improved to 50-34 for the 2026 regular season, while the Cardinals are 44-39 and remain in third place of the NL Central.
