The Atlanta Braves opened a six-game road trip with a loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates by 12-4 on Tuesday night in the first outing of a three-game National League set in Pittsburgh, PA.
Ryan O’Hearn led the charge offensively for the Pirates with three home runs, including a grand slam in the bottom of the first inning and three-run shots in the third and the sixth.
Hurston Waldrep took the loss for Atlanta after giving up seven runs and six hits, walking five, and striking out two over just three and one-third innings. Paul Skenes got the win for Pittsburgh.
The Braves hold a record of 52-38 on the 2026 regular season, and their lead in the NL East now stands at two games over the second place Philadelphia Phillies. The Pirates are currently in fourth place of the NL Central at 47-45. The teams will meet again tonight at 6:40 pm in Pittsburgh.
