The Atlanta Braves wrapped up a seven-game homestand with a 6-5 victory over the San Diego Padres on Thursday afternoon at Truist Park. The Braves took the series by 3-1 and went 5-2 during their homestand.
All six of the Braves’ runs were scored via home runs. Michael Harris II had a solo shot that got the team on the board in the bottom of the second inning. Ozzie Albies added a solo homer to begin the bottom of the fourth. Dominic Smith clubbed a three-run bomb that put Atlanta ahead by 5-3 in that inning.
Drake Baldwin also contributed a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Ty France hit a two-run homer for the visiting Padres during the top of the eighth.
Chris Sale was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He gave up three runs and five hits, walked one, and struck out 11 over six innings. Raisel Iglesias picked up the save. Griffin Canning took the loss for San Diego.
The National League East-leading Braves are now 60-42 on the 2026 regular season. They will open up a six-game road trip tonight with the first meeting of a three-game set in Baltimore, MD versus the Orioles. First pitch is slated for 7:05 pm.
