The Rome Emperors beat the Hub City Spartanburgers by a final score of 7-3 on Tuesday evening in the opener of a six-game set in Spartanburg, SC.
Highlights included two home runs by Owen Carey to include a two-run shot in the Emperors’ three-run first inning and a solo homer in the eighth. Mason Guerra also had a solo home run in the top of the eighth. Eric Hartman drove in a pair of runs.
The Emperors will face the Spartanburgers again this evening. The first pitch is set for 6:35 pm.
