AdventHealth Redmond recently celebrated the graduation of 25 nurses from its yearlong Nurse Residency Program, marking an important milestone in their transition from nursing school to professional practice. Throughout the program, participants received mentorship, advanced training and hands-on learning opportunities designed to help them build confidence and deliver exceptional patient care.
The Nurse Residency Program supports newly licensed nurses as they begin their careers, providing a structured environment where they can expand their clinical knowledge, strengthen critical thinking skills and develop the confidence needed to thrive in today’s health care settings. Over the course of the year, residents worked closely with experienced registered nurses who provided one-on-one guidance and support as they navigated the challenges and rewards of patient care.
In addition to mentorship, residents participated in immersive simulation experiences and professional development workshops that enhanced their clinical expertise, communication skills and leadership abilities. The program is designed to foster both professional growth and personal resilience, helping nurses feel prepared to care for patients with compassion and excellence.

As part of the graduation celebration, residents presented Evidence-Based Practice projects focused on improving patient care and outcomes. These projects addressed real-world challenges and reflected the nurses’ commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and delivering high-quality care.
The graduates’ work embodies AdventHealth’s mission of extending the healing ministry of Christ by providing whole-person care that attends to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of every patient. Their ideas and contributions demonstrate a shared commitment to ensuring patients and families feel seen, supported and cared for throughout their health care journey.
The graduation ceremony recognized not only the accomplishments of the 25 residents, but also the nurse leaders, preceptors and mentors who helped guide them throughout the year. Their support played a vital role in preparing the next generation of nursing professionals at AdventHealth Redmond.
