Rome City Schools is now accepting families for its Wolf P.U.P. (Play. Understand. Prepare.) program. This free, bilingual early learning opportunity is designed to help 3-year-olds and their parents build the skills and English language understanding needed for a successful transition to prekindergarten.
The program will meet Wednesdays from Sept. 16, 2026, through May 5, 2027, from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. at Elm Street Elementary School.
Wolf P.U.P. provides fun, engaging activities that help children develop early literacy, language, and communication skills while giving parents practical strategies they can use at home to support learning. The bilingual program is designed to strengthen school readiness while encouraging meaningful parent involvement in a child’s early education. This new program aligns with Rome City Schools’ commitment to improving literacy outcomes for students through its Literacy Before Life For Life initiative.
“Research continues to show that children who develop strong early literacy and language skills are better prepared for success in school,” Superintendent Dr. Eric L. Holland said. “Our Wolf P.U.P. program gives families the opportunity to learn together, build those foundational skills, and begin their educational journey with confidence. We are excited to offer this program as another way we are helping every child get off to a strong start.”
