Kickback to the Community, an annual silent auction of fine jewelry to benefit local charities, returns to Ford, Gittings & Kane Jewelers, 312 Broad Street in downtown Rome, from Wednesday, August 12th through Saturday, August 22nd.
Bid cards are available for $10 apiece at the store and at participating 501(c)(3) organizations; the proceeds from the sales of bid cards will go directly to charities of the bidders’ choice. Ten percent of the purchase price of all of the items in the auction will benefit charities.
Several area organizations are selling bid cards, enthuses Jan Fergerson, FGK Representative.
Fergerson adds that even churches may benefit from Kickback.
Bidding in this year’s auction will end promptly at 2 pm on Saturday, August 22nd. Starting bids are 50 percent off the regular price. There is also a buy-it-now option that is 25 percent off the regular price.
Krista Lovering, FGK representative, says that Kickback usually ends with a bidding war.
