The Atlanta Braves defeated the New York Mets by 6-3 on Wednesday night in the last meeting of a three-game National League East set at Truist Park. It allowed Atlanta to take the series.
Lane Thomas clubbed his first home run as a Brave during the bottom of the second inning. Mike Yastrzemski and Austin Riley had back-to-back home runs to begin the seventh.
Tyler Mahle secured his first win for Atlanta after giving up just one run and four hits, walking none, and striking out seven in six innings. Zac Thornton took the loss for New York.
The NL East-leading Braves improved to 73-48 on the 2026 regular season. They are off tonight and will resume their current homestand on Friday night with the first of three games against the Arizona Diamondbacks. First pitch is slated for 7:15 pm at Truist Park.
