The Atlanta Braves defeated the Chicago White Sox by 2-0 on Thursday in Chicago, IL. The teams thus made up a game that was rained out earlier in the season.
Austin Riley drove in both of the Braves’ runs with an RBI double in the top of the third inning and an RBI single in the seventh.
Grant Holmes was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He gave up just one hit, walked three, and struck out three over six scoreless innings of work. Raisel Iglesias picked up the save. Anthony Kay took the loss for Chicago.
The National League East-leading Braves are now 75-53 on the 2026 regular season. They will be in Milwaukee, WI this weekend for a three-game series versus the NL Central-leading Brewers. First pitch of today’s series opener is slated for 4:10 pm. That outing will not be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM or 96.9 FM due to coverage of high school football in the evening. Join WLAQ for the play-by-play story of the rest of the series from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.
