Hospitality House for Women, Inc. is currently making plans for the October observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The month’s activities will include the annual Walk a Mile In Her Shoes, for which the theme will be “Paint the Town Purple”, says Angela Harris, Latin-X Outreach Coordinator. The walk will take place on Saturday, October 24th and will originate from the back garden of the Rome-Floyd County Library. Registration will begin at 11 am, and the walk will start at noon. Teams and sponsors are now sought.
Visit the event Facebook page, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 2026 – Paint the Town Purple, for more details.
Harris adds that activities for DVAM will also include presentations about domestic violence around the community.
