September is observed annually as National Recovery Month, an observance intended to support and celebrate those in recovery from substance abuse.
Local non-profit Life, Purpose & Recovery Inc. exists to help individuals that struggle with addiction and mental health issues. Its services, like recovery support meetings and peer coaching, are free of charge to clients, states Vera Wright, Executive Director.
It has been said that the opposite of addiction is connection. Life, Purpose & Recovery, Inc. provides many opportunities to connect, according to Wright, who adds that isolation can often make problems worse.
Those who struggle with addiction are encouraged by Wright to reach out to Life, Purpose & Recovery, Inc., which may be contacted via phone at (706) 204-8710.
