The Knights of Columbus from St. Mary’s Catholic Church will serve up a tasty local tradition at their 58th annual Labor Day Barbecue, set for Monday, September 7th at the Rome Civic Center. Hours are 10 am until 2 pm (or until the food is sold out). Attendees may dine in or take out.
Chris Lewis, member of the Knights, encourages everyone to arrive early in order to get exactly what they want.
Lewis also recommends ordering online at www.romebbq.com in advance of the event.
Bulk take-out orders include pork, beef and chicken barbecue; pork carnitas; baked beans; and Brunswick stew. Plates, either for dine-in or take out, come with pork, beef, chicken or carnitas and all the sides.
Brunswick stew is one of the most popular items, according to Kevin Wall, member of the Knights.
The proceeds from the Labor Day Barbecue will go towards local nonprofits supported by the Knights.
