A new slate of classes in the SAFE Emergency Preparedness Academy is underway for the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency.
Upcoming sessions include Crisis Intervention Response on September 28th, CPR and AED on October 13th and again on November 17th, Active Shooter on November 10th, and Kids on Games and Apps on December 8th. Members of the community are encouraged by Floyd EMA Director Tim Herrington to participate.
Herrington recommends advance registration, as space tends to fill quickly for training such as this.
Interested parties may register in advance at SAFE 2026 (Sept – Dec). These courses will be taught at Floyd EMA, 409 East 12th Street in Rome.
Citizens with questions about the SAFE Emergency Preparedness Academy should call (706) 236-5002 or email FloydEMA@floydcountyga.org.
This particular slate of courses began on September 2nd with a focus on First Aid.
