The Atlanta Braves lost to the Philadelphia Phillies by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings on Wednesday afternoon at Truist Park in Game Two of their best-of-three National League Wild Card Series. It evened the set at a game each.
The Phillies struck first with an RBI single by Bryce Harper in the top of the first. Matt Olson had an RBI single for the Braves that resulted in a 1-1 tie in the bottom of that inning. The Braves assumed a 3-1 lead during the seventh on an RBI double from Drake Baldwin and a sac fly from Matt Olson. Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper hit back-to-back home runs for the Phillies that tied the game at 3-3 at the beginning of the eighth. They took the lead with a solo home run by Alec Bohm and secured the victory with a successful ABS challenge in the 10th.
Didier Fuentes was charged with the loss for Atlanta. Andrew Painter picked up the win for Philadelphia.
Game Three between the Braves and the Phillies is slated for 8:15 pm tonight in Atlanta. Listen to play-by-play coverage from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network on WLAQ 1410 AM/96.9 FM; airtime is 7 pm. The winner will go on to a National League Division Series that begins this weekend.
