The 77th annual Coosa Valley Fair opens this evening and continues through Saturday at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Rome.
Rides are again being provided by Wade Shows, according to Bryan Shealy, Coosa Valley Fair Manager.
Charles Norris, President of the Coosa Valley Fair Association, enthuses that he looks forward to fair food, especially the ‘Rich Boy’ sandwich.
The fair will also feature exhibits ranging from homemaking to photography, according to Shealy.
Shealy additionally encourages fairgoers to check out local businesses in the Village Building, as well as the side shows.
Carloads will be admitted to the Coosa Valley Fair for $10 this evening from 5 pm until 6 pm and again on Saturday from 10 am until 11 am. No trucks or vans permitted. Only cash will be accepted for this special.
Opening night highlights will include the Coosa Valley Fair Cheerleading Exhibition & Spirit Competition at 7 pm.
Pageants will be held throughout the week to include the Miss Senior Coosa Valley Fair pageant on Thursday, which will be Senior Citizens Day.
