The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging community members to be safe over Halloween weekend.
Sheriff Dave Roberson exhorts motorists to be cautious as kids hit the streets in search of treats. Parents should check candy bags before their kids dig in. Everyone should be observant.
The FCSO also seeks community support during the holiday season for its Sheriff Santa program. The program provides Christmas gifts to older youth and those with special needs. There is also a Santa for Seniors program for which the FCSO teams up with Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation, according to Roberson.
A golf tournament will be held to raise funds for Sheriff Santa on November 16th at the Cherokee Golf Club in Cedartown, says Roberson.
Those with questions about the tournament should reach out to Lt. Anthony Cromer at (706) 314-0705 or anthony.cromer@floydcountyga.org.
Information on Sheriff Santa and more may be viewed on the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office website at www.floydsheriffga.gov and on social media.
