ROME LITTLE THEATRE TO PRESENT MYSTIC PIZZA THIS WEEKEND AND NEXT AT THE DESOTO THEATRE

Are you looking for some entertainment over the next couple of weekends? The Rome Little Theatre will present Mystic Pizza from May 2nd through 11th at the DeSoto Theatre, 530 Broad Street in downtown Rome. Show times are 7:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 pm on Sundays.

This musical version of Mystic Pizza is based on the 1988 MGM rom-com of the same name. Abby Yerbey, who plays Kat, says that the story is centered around three young ladies who are navigating life and love while working in a pizza joint.

Lacey Herring, who plays Jojo, says that each of these ladies have different personalities, but they are bound together by their love for each other, Mystic and the pizza shop owner.

According to a description of the show from the Rome Little Theatre:

“Bursting with an infectious score that features megahits from the 80s and 90s, Mystic Pizza celebrates the enduring spirit of friendship and the bittersweet journey of young adulthood. Featuring iconic songs like “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” as the characters strive to find their own paths amidst the challenges they face.

This exciting adaptation promises to capture the same charm and wit of the original film, making it a must-see for both fans of the classic and newcomers alike. With a talented cast, vibrant choreography, and a nostalgic trip down memory lane, Mystic Pizza is sure to be a highlight of the theatre season.”

Tickets for Mystic Pizza are available online at www.romelittletheatre.com and at the RLT box office.
