Tax season has arrived! Do you need help with your taxes? Once again this year, trained AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will provide free help and electronic filing for low to middle income taxpayers. They will be stationed over at the Rome-Floyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway, each Saturday between the hours of 10 am to 2 pm from February 1st until April 11th and on Mondays from 1 pm to 4 pm from February 3rd until April 13th. Assistance will also be offered at the Charles C. Parker Center, 1325 Kingston Road, on Wednesdays from 1 pm to 4 pm from February 5th through April 15th.
Those who wish to take advantage of AARP Tax-Aide must bring last year’s tax return, all available information for this year, a photo ID for all taxpayers, social security cards and proof of health insurance for all people included on the return.
AARP Tax-Aide is offered by the AARP Foundation in conjunction with the IRS. For additional information, call Maureen Collins, Local Coordinator, at (203) 326-1323.
The deadline to file your taxes is coming up on April 15th!
