The Braves wrapped up a seven-game road trip out west with a 9-2 win over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on Sunday.
Atlanta improved to 72-64 on the season with that victory. Their lead in the National League East now stands at a game and a half over the Philadelphia Phillies. Washington is tied with Miami for last place in that division with a record of 57-80.
In other news from the Atlanta Braves, the team announced on Monday that they have signed pitcher Charlie Morton to a one-year, $20 million contract for the 2022 season with a $20 million club option for 2023 which does not include a buyout.
