March is American Red Cross Month. The observance was commemorated with a proclamation by the Rome City Commission at their regular meeting on Monday night.
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors, according to its mission statement. The organization provides disaster relief, blood services, and support to military families.
