The Nationals scored the first run of the evening on a sac fly by Luke Voit in the bottom of the first inning. The Braves tied the game at 1-1 during the top of the second on a solo home run from Matt Olson, his 30th homer of the year.
An RBI single by Voit broke the tie in favor of the Nationals in the bottom of the third. The game was all tied up again when Dansby Swanson scored on a throwing error in the top of the eighth. The Nats secured the win and avoided being swept by the Braves on a walk-off single by CJ Abrams during the 10th.
