Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth’s 4th Annual “Are You Smarter Than a 3rd Grader?” Set for This Evening!

The “Are You Smarter Than A 3^rd Grader?” Awareness Fundraiser to benefit the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth will take place this evening at 6 pm at the Rome City Auditorium.

The event is patterned after the TV game show “Are You Smarter Than A 5^th Grader?”, but the focus is on students reaching literacy goals by the 3^rd grade, says RFCCCY Executive Director Jennifer Jolly. This 4^th annual battle of the brains will reveal whether or not adults are smarter than 3^rd graders.

When asked if adults are smarter than 3^rd graders, contestant Landon Jones of Unity Christian School has a simple answer – no.

Emmarie Griffin, a 3^rd grader at East Central Elementary School, agrees. This, she asserts, is because the adults lose the competition every year to the 3^rd graders.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children/youth. Jolly encourages the community to visit Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and Youth on Facebook to meet the contestants and find a link to purchase tickets. The tickets may also be purchased at the door.
