ATLANTA (April 27, 2026) Drivers across Georgia are seeing relatively stable gas prices this week, with the statewide average holding at $3.62 per gallon for regular gasoline. While prices have only inched higher, uncertainty in the market suggests changes could still be ahead. Drivers may want to plan ahead, shop around for the best prices, and consider using fuel‑saving strategies to manage costs.
“Oil prices are staying high due to global tensions and concerns about supply, which continue to put pressure on fuel costs,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “While prices moved up and down late last week, the overall trend is still upward, which could mean higher prices at the pump for drivers in the days ahead.”
Compared to recent benchmarks:
- 1 cent higher than last week
- 1 cent higher than last month
- 71 cents higher than this time last year
For those filling up a standard 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline, the cost is approximately $54.30.
Nationwide Gas Prices Up, Global Pressures Remain
The national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline rose 5 cents this week to $4.09, as global tensions continue to impact the oil market and keep prices unsettled. Crude oil prices remain elevated following another failed ceasefire announcement between the U.S. and Iran, with U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude trading in the mid‑$90s per barrel.
While the upward trend in oil prices could eventually translate to higher costs at the pump, market conditions remain fluid. Activity through the Strait of Hormuz is still lower than normal as regional tensions persist and diplomatic negotiations continue, meaning fuel prices may continue to shift in the days ahead.
Electric:
The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station went down by one cent this past week to 40 cents. Drivers can plan ahead by checking prices along their route with AAA’s TripTik Travel Planner.
Regional Prices:
The most expensive metro markets in Georgia are Valdosta ($3.69), Atlanta ($3.64), and Gainesville ($3.60).
The least expensive metro markets in Georgia are Albany ($3.50), Hinesville-Fort Stewart ($3.48), and Dalton ($3.45).
