The Atlanta Braves concluded a six-game homestand on Thursday afternoon with a loss to the Detroit Tigers by 5-2 in the final outing of a three-game set at Truist Park. The Braves have still yet to lose a series and went 4-2 during their homestand.
The home team struck first with an RBI single from Eli White in the bottom of the second inning. Mauricio Dubon added an RBI single in the third to make it 2-0 in favor of the Braves. Matt Vierling had an RBI single in the top of the sixth, then an RBI double in the eighth for Detroit to tie the game at 2-2. The Tigers took the lead in that inning on a sac fly by Gleyber Torres. They added two more in the ninth on an RBI single from Vierling and an RBI double from Dillon Dingler.
Joel Payamps was charged with the loss for Atlanta. Drew Anderson picked up the win and Kyle Finnegan got the save for Detroit.
The National League East-leading Braves maintain the best record in MLB at 22-10 on the 2026 regular season. They will open a nine-game road trip out west tonight with the first of three games versus the Colorado Rockies. First pitch is scheduled for 8:40 pm Eastern at Coors Field in Denver, CO.
