The Atlanta Braves lost to the Seattle Mariners by 5-4 on Monday night in the opener of a three-game set in Seattle, WA.
Drake Baldwin led off the outing with a home run for Atlanta. Ozzie Albies and Matt Olson hit back-to-back homers to begin the top of the sixth inning. That marked the 300th home run of Olson’s career. Austin Riley also homered for the Braves in the sixth. However, Luke Raley hit a three run shot and JP Crawford had a two-run homer in the bottom of that inning to put the Mariners ahead.
Tyler Kinley was charged with the loss for Atlanta. Logan Gilbert picked up the win and Andres Munoz got the save for Seattle.
The National League East-leading Braves maintain the best record in MLB at 25-11. The Mariners are in second place of the American League West with a record of 17-19. The teams will meet again tonight in Seattle. The first pitch is set for 10:10 pm Eastern.
