The Children’s Museum of Rome will host its 3rd annual Touch A Truck event on Saturday, May 9th from 9 am until 1 pm at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds in Rome.
Mark Suroveic, Executive Board member, says that kids will enjoy climbing on a variety of trucks.
There will be firetrucks, police cars, earth movers, and semis, according to Megan Treglown with the Executive Board. She adds that a sensory hour will take place from 9 am until 10 am to accommodate any children that are sensitive to loud truck horns.
There will also be inflatables and food, as well as a dunking contest between the Rome-Floyd Fire Department and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office. The cost is $5 for three throws or $25 for an automatic dunk.
Event admission will be $5. Children ages two and under will be admitted for free. A link to purchase tickets is available on the event Facebook page; search for CMOR 3rd Annual Touch A Truck.
All of the proceeds from Touch A Truck will go towards the establishment of the Children’s Museum of Rome at Mount Berry Mall, states Treglown.
Treglown adds that construction is underway for the museum, which is now projected to open sometime during the Fall of 2026.
