The Paradise Garden Foundation invites Northwest Georgians to check out the latest exhibit on display at Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden, 200 North Lewis Street in Summerville.
A collection of photography by Mikel Yeakle entitled “35 Years at Paradise Garden” will remain open through May 24th, according to Davia Weatherill, Executive Director of the Paradise Garden Foundation. She enthuses that the photographs are a reflection of how late folk artist Howard Finster continues to inspire people.
Visitors are also encouraged to check out the World’s Folk Art Church while at Paradise Garden. The structure was re-opened to the public last Summer following an extensive restoration, a project that was recently honored with an Excellence in Rehabilitation Award from the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.
Paradise Garden will host an Art Camp this Summer. It will take place from June 23rd through 26th and will be open to rising 3rd through 8th graders, says Weatherill. For more information, contact the Paradise Garden Foundation at (706) 808-0800 or email info@paradisegardenfoundation.org.
Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden is included in the National Register of Historic Places.
