The Atlanta Braves beat the Chicago Cubs by 4-1 on Wednesday night in the second outing of a three-game National League set at Truist Park. It marked the fourth straight win for Atlanta.
Drake Baldwin clubbed a home run for the Braves to begin the bottom of the fourth inning. The Cubs tied the game at 1-1 during the top of the fifth on an RBI single by Nico Hoerner. Mike Yastrzemski broke that tie in favor of the Braves with a pinch-hit RBI double in the eighth. It was followed by a two-run homer by Mauricio Dubon.
Robert Suarez was credited with the win in relief for Atlanta. Raisel Iglesias got the save. Shota Imanaga took the loss for Chicago.
The NL East-leading Braves improved their MLB-best record to 30-13 on the 2026 regular season, while the NL Central-leading Cubs are 27-16. They will meet in their series finale tonight at 7:15 pm.
