The Exchange Club of Rome will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday at 10 am at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.
Attendees should enter the main gate and park in fair parking lanes. There will be no parking in front of the Palladium because of the new Coosa Valley Spring Fair, according to club member John Fortune, who believes that it is important to move forward with the Memorial Day Ceremony to honor those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
Lieutenant Colonel Michael B. Baka (U.S. Army Retired) will be the guest speaker. Music will be provided by the Exchange Brass and Exchange Club of Rome Ensemble. The club’s replica of the Tomb of the Unknown will also be on display.
The Memorial Day Ceremony is a rain or shine event. There are chances for showers and thunderstorms throughout the holiday weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
