ATLANTA (June 1, 2026) Georgia gas prices are continuing to fall, giving drivers some relief at the pump. The drop follows lower crude oil prices tied to reported Iran peace talks, though uncertainty remains. With global energy markets still volatile, drivers should keep seeking ways to save on fuel.
“Georgia drivers are finally getting some relief at the pump, with the state average now at $3.85 a gallon, just as summer travel begins to ramp up,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “But with global uncertainty still in play, these savings could shift quickly, so now is the time to stay alert, shop around for the best prices, and make smart fuel choices to stretch every dollar.”
Compared to recent benchmarks:
- 14 cents lower than last week
- 10 cents higher than last month
- 96 cents higher than this time last year
For those filling up a standard 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline, the cost is approximately $57.75.
Gas Prices Level Off Across the Country
The national average for gas has dropped to $4.33, down 18 cents in just a week, giving drivers a bit of relief. Lower oil prices, tied to possible peace talks with Iran, are helping, but the situation remains uncertain and prices could rise again. Even with this dip, prices are still high as summer travel picks up, so drivers can save money by planning ahead, comparing gas stations, and combining trips whenever possible.
