The Atlanta Braves lost to the Chicago White Sox by a final score of 2-1 on Wednesday evening in game two of a three-game interleague set in Chicago, IL. It allowed Chicago to secure a series win and is only the third series loss for Atlanta this season.
The White Sox notched both of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jorge Mateo scored the Braves’ lone run of the night on a fielding error in the top of the seventh.
Chris Sale was charged with the loss for Atlanta after giving up two runs and six hits, walking one, and striking out six through five and two-third innings. Davis Martin was credited with the win and Bryan Hudson got the save for Chicago.
The National League East-leading Braves’ MLB-best record is now 45-23 on the ’26 regular season. The White Sox are now in first place of the American League Central at 36-31. Those teams will meet in their series finale tonight at 7:40 pm Eastern up in Chicago.
