The Rome Emperors began a 12-game road trip with a 6-1 victory over the Jersey Shore BlueClaws on Tuesday night in game one of a six-game set in Lakewood, NJ. Owen Carey had a solo home run during the top of the sixth inning. Mason Guerra contributed a three-run shot in the eighth. Game two between the Emperors and the BlueClaws is slated for this evening with first pitch at 6:35 pm.
The Emperors’ series at Jersey Shore will continue through Sunday and will be followed by six games in Wappingers Falls, NY versus the Hudson Valley Renegades next week.
