Media release from AAA – The Auto Club Group:
ATLANTA (July 6, 2026) Georgia drivers continue to get relief at the pump as the state average gas price declines following the Independence Day holiday. Lower oil prices and ample fuel supplies are helping push prices lower, creating additional savings opportunities for motorists. AAA encourages drivers to compare prices and take advantage of the best fuel deals in their area.
Compared to recent benchmarks:
- 5 cents lower than last week
- 34 cents lower than last month
- 62 cents higher than this time last year
For those filling up a standard 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline, the cost is approximately $52.95.
National Gas Prices Extend Decline
The national average for regular gasoline has dropped nearly 45 cents over the past month to $3.80 per gallon for regular gasoline. Although prices remain higher than a year ago, they are well below the May 21 peak of $4.56. Falling crude oil prices are helping drive the downward trend, providing welcome relief for motorists during the summer travel season.

Drivers can find current gas and electric charging prices along their route using the AAA TripTik Travel planner.
