Media release from AAA – The Auto Club Group:
ATLANTA (July 13, 2026) After several weeks of falling gas prices, Georgia drivers are seeing a slight increase at the pump. The state average for regular unleaded rose this week as higher crude oil costs and strong summer travel demand put upward pressure on fuel prices. AAA encourages drivers to shop around for the best prices and take advantage of available fuel savings programs.
“While Georgia drivers are paying a bit more at the pump this week, the increase remains relatively modest,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Fluctuations in crude oil prices seasonal travel demand and conflict in the Middle East continue to influence fuel cost. Drivers should continue to expect routine price changes throughout the summer driving season.”
Compared to recent benchmarks:
- 4 cents higher than last week
- 21 cents lower than last month
- 66 cents higher than this time last year
For those filling up a standard 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline, the cost is approximately $53.55.
U.S. Gas Price Average Edges Up
Gas prices are moving higher as uncertainty surrounding the conflict in the Middle East continues to impact global oil markets. The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline increased 7 cents from last week to $3.87, reversing a steady decline that began in late May. While crude oil remains in the low $70-per-barrel range, ongoing geopolitical tensions could place additional upward pressure on fuel prices. Even with the recent increase, pump prices remain well below the spring peak of $4.56 per gallon on May 21.
