Before the summer season ends, local dogs will have a new chance to make a splash at the Northside Swim Center Puppy Plunge on Monday, September 7. The special event invites dog owners and their four-legged companions to enjoy an evening of swimming, music, and dog-friendly vendors in a fun environment designed exclusively for dogs.
The Puppy Plunge welcomes dogs of all sizes and features supervised swim sessions organized by weight to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for every participant. Small dogs weighing 15 pounds or less will swim from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m., medium-sized dogs weighing 16 to 50 pounds will swim from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m., and large dogs weighing more than 50 pounds will have the pool from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. The event will also feature music and dog-friendly vendors, making it a fun evening for both pets and their owners.
Because space is limited, pre-registration is required to help prevent overcrowding. Participants must submit current vaccination records at the time of registration and complete a signed liability waiver for each dog attending. All dogs participating in the event must be friendly and well socialized around other dogs, be spayed or neutered, not be in heat, and be current on all required vaccinations. Dogs displaying aggressive behavior will not be permitted to participate and will be asked to leave the event if necessary. Register your dog at www.rfpra.com and click the register button.
To help ensure the safety of all guests, dogs must remain on a leash whenever they are not in the pool, and owners are responsible for supervising their pets at all times. Glass containers and dog toys that could create hazards will not be permitted within the event area.
The Northside Swim Center Puppy Plunge will become a favorite end-of-summer tradition, giving dogs the opportunity to enjoy the pool before it closes for the season while bringing together pet owners and the community for a unique recreational experience.
