Media release from AdventHealth Georgia:
AdventHealth will host a Community AngioScreen event on Wednesday, August 12, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the AdventHealth Redmond.
The noninvasive vascular screening is designed to help identify risk factors for heart disease and stroke before symptoms occur. The screening takes approximately 10 minutes and provides immediate results to participants.
AngioScreen includes:
- Stroke screening/carotid artery ultrasound
- EKG of the heart
- Ankle brachial indexes
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening
The screening is recommended for individuals with cardiovascular risk factors, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, smoking history, family history of stroke or heart attack, or a personal history of cardiovascular issues. Adults age 55 and older are also encouraged to participate.
“At AdventHealth, we believe prevention and early detection play an important role in helping people feel whole,” said Mandy Byars, AngioScreen coordinator. “This screening gives community members an opportunity to better understand their cardiovascular health and take proactive steps toward improving their well-being.”
The complete screening costs $85 per person and is HSA eligible. Cash, checks, credit cards and HSA/flex spending cards are accepted. Appointments are required and can be scheduled online at http://bit.ly/CommunityAngioScreen or by calling the AngioScreen office at 706-290-8008.
