The Atlanta Braves had a scheduled off-day on Monday and will resume their current seven-game homestand tonight with the first of three National League East games versus the Miami Marlins. The Braves opened this homestand by sweeping the Washington Nationals in a four-game NL East series. They currently lead the division with a record of 67-45 on the 2026 regular season. The Marlins are in third place at 58-55.
In other news from the Braves, Chris Sale has been named National League Pitcher of the Month for July. This marks his sixth POM honor, his last was as a Brave in May 2024.
Also, MLB’s trade deadline occurred Monday evening. Acquisitions for the Braves prior to that deadline included outfielder Lane Thomas, pitcher Tyler Mahle, and reliever Brent Suter.
