Media release from the Georgia Lottery Corporation:
Two Georgia Lottery players won $50,000 in the August 3 Powerball drawing as the jackpot jumped to $786 million, now the ninth largest in the game’s history. The winning tickets matched four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball number, and were purchased on the Georgia Lottery mobile app by an Atlanta resident and at Publix, 1110 Lower Fayetteville Road in Newnan. The next drawing will take place August 5.
Another player won the $1 million top prize playing the Bonus Star Millions scratch-off game. That ticket was purchased at Texaco Pit Stop, 312 McFarland Ave. in Rossville and the winner claimed the prize on August 3.
Finally, a Hoschton resident won $50,000 playing the Precious Elements Diggi Game and an Atlanta player won $25,000 playing the Royal Jumbo Bucks Diggi Game, both on the mobile app on August 3.
As with all Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball, scratch-off tickets, and Diggi Games benefit education in the state of Georgia.
