This Saturday, August 15th is the date of the 41st annual Tillman Clocktower 5K Road Race & 2-Mile Health Walk to benefit the Family Resource Center. The 5K will start at 8 am, followed a short time later by the walk. Both will depart from Heritage Park.
Online registration remains available at www.runsignup.com until 11:59 pm tonight. Race day registration will also be offered early Saturday morning at 6:30 am. The cost is now $40 for both the 5K and the 2-Mile.
Jason Sanker, co-organizer, says that the event proceeds will benefit the FRC mission of child abuse prevention.
Many clients have benefited from the work of the FRC, according to Sanker, who encourages the community to support the center by participating in this Saturday’s event.
The 2026 Tillman Clocktower 5K Road Race & 2-Mile Health Walk will be a qualifier for the 2027 Peachtree Road Race. For more information about it or the Family Resource Center, visit www.frcrome.org.
Also set for Saturday – the 24th Health Initiative for Men and Women. That event will be presented by the 100 Black Men of Rome-Northwest Georgia and numerous community partners. It will take place from 8 am until 12 pm at the Floyd County Health Department, 16 East 12th Street in Rome.
