Ten members of the Shorter University football team were baptized Sunday at Ben Brady Field, marking a significant moment of faith for the student-athletes and the Shorter community gathered to witness it.
Over the past two weekends, Shorter student-athletes have had opportunities to hear the Gospel through local church partnerships. Pastor Brady Wood shared the Gospel at Pleasant Valley South Church, followed by Jarrod Roberts at West Rome Baptist Church. That time of spiritual emphasis culminated in 10 football players publicly professing their faith through baptism at Ben Brady Field. Jason Crumley and Topher Stockton of West Rome Baptist Church led the baptisms as teammates, coaches and members of the university community gathered to celebrate with the players.
Shorter Head Football Coach Zach Morrison said the moment was a powerful reminder of what matters most.

Through baptism, these 10 student-athletes publicly proclaimed their faith in Jesus Christ and their commitment to follow Him. Their testimony is a beautiful picture of God’s grace at work and a celebration of lives being transformed through Christ.
